Best Practices

One Mic per Cast Member

Where possible, assign one fixed mic:

โœ… Good:
John Doe = Handheld 1 (entire show)

โŒ Confusing: John = Handheld 1 (cue 1-5) John = Handheld 3 (cue 6-10)

Naming

Use clear names for your devices:

โœ… Clear:
"Handheld 1 - Red"
"Headset A - Presenter"
"Lapel Ch.5"

โŒ Unclear: "Mic 1" "Shure" "Wireless"

Pre-Show Checklist

  1. โœ… All devices created in organization
  2. โœ… Microphones assigned to cast per cue
  3. โœ… Audio team informed
  4. โœ… Cast knows their mic number
  5. โœ… "Picked Up" status updated during issue
