Conflicts and Warnings

What to do about audio conflicts? Learn how ShowCaller warns you if a microphone hasn't been returned yet.

⚠️ Conflicts and Warnings

ShowCaller automatically detects issues with your audio planning and warns you before they cause problems.

What is a conflict?

A conflict arises when:

    1. A device is assigned to person A
    2. Person A does not return the device
    3. The same device is assigned to person B in a later cue
Result: Person B cannot retrieve the device because person A still has it.

How do you recognize a conflict?

  1. Red row - The cue row is highlighted in red
  2. "Conflict" badge - A red badge appears next to the cue title
  3. "still with someone" - Instead of "retrieve," you see this warning
  4. Red indicator - The left column turns dark red

Resolving a conflict

Option 1: Return the device earlier

  1. Go to the cue where the device should be returned
  2. Make sure the "AFTER CUE" section contains the device
  3. Or adjust the schedule so that person A returns the device earlier

Option 2: Assign a different device

  1. Open the cue configuration for person B
  2. Choose another available device
  3. The conflict disappears automatically

Option 3: Replace device

If a device breaks down:
  1. Go to the Audio Inventory Manager
  2. Click delete on the broken device
  3. You get the option to replace it with another device
  4. All assignments are automatically updated

Prevention tips

    1. Schedule "return" moments well before the next person needs the device
    2. Use the Microphone Status to check availability
    3. Discuss the schedule with your team in advance
