Assigning Microphones to People

Assign microphones and headsets to cast and crew in specific cues via the cue configuration.

🔗 Assigning Microphones to People

To populate the Audio Patch Plan, you must first assign microphones to people in your cues.

Assign via Cue Configuration

  1. Open a cue - Click on a cue in the Rundown
  2. Go to the detail panel - The cue configuration opens on the right
  3. Add a person - Click "+ Add person"
  4. Choose the person - Select from your cast or type a name
  5. Choose the microphone type - Handheld, Headset, Lapel or IEM
  6. Select the device - Choose from your registered devices

Microphone types per person

For each person you can choose from:

    1. None - No microphone needed
    2. Handheld - Select a handheld from the list
    3. Headset - Select a headset from the list
    4. Lapel - Select a lapel microphone
    5. IEM - Select an in-ear monitor

Multiple cues, same device

If a person holds a device over multiple cues:

    1. ShowCaller detects this automatically
    2. The Audio Patch Plan shows "holds" status
    3. Only at the last cue does "hand in" appear

Conflict detection

If you assign a device that is already in use:

    1. You will receive a warning in the Audio Patch Plan
    2. The relevant row is highlighted in red
    3. Resolve this by choosing another device or handing in the original device earlier
